Wow, SMDS has a new website. They just announced it this month!
Take a look:
Here is a listing of all the banks along Katipunan Avenue, near the Miriam-Ateneo campuses:
More banks on the other side of the Katipunan-Aurora flyover. Will post in another article. Feel free to add any banks or atm locations you know of.
Loyola Heights Neighborhood are encouraged to participate as klima Climate Change Center of the Manila Observatory helps spread the Earth Hour campaign by sending out letters to the area.

Katipunan Avenue is now CP Garcia Avenue?
I can’t believe it. At first, I took it with a grain of salt as my cousin who studies at Ateneo delivered the news to me. I thought it must be some mistake but then I saw the street signs myself. The recently installed blue street labels were replaced by “MMDA-pink” labels that said “C.P. Garcia” on street posts located on all corners along Katipunan Avenue. Just when I was being proud of the blue street signs (installed like last 1-2 yrs?), they change it. I’m not sure when they changed the signs but several relatives of mine noticed it in early January of this year.
Why the heck did they do that?!? It’s been Katipunan forever… it’s been years that that road is known as Katipunan. Are we victims again of yet another useless, confusing street-name change??? I found a link on this issue: http://vaes9.codedgraphic.com/posts/silly_mmda
So what happens now.. KatipunanQC.com will be CPGarciaQC.com? Yuck.
Katipunan Avenue changes its looks yet again as the MMDA takes out the huge trees on the islands along this busy street. The trees were previously located in the “street islands” in front of the Ateneo/McDonald’s area up to the ones in front of Yellow Cab at the FBR building. I think the trees on the island that stretches from the Miriam College/Metrobank area up to the Shoppersville area are also gone as well.
Goodbye trees and goodbye islands (and goodbye parking space?). I bet balikbayans or returning visitors or alumnae will get more confused the next time they visit Katipunan. All that is left are patches of rubble that used to make up the islands, some traffic signs and plastic orange barricade on the island perimiter. I wonder what the MMDA will do next.

McDonald’s Katipunan was closed again today after being seen open (or with customers) yesterday.
I am guessing they are opening soon after starting renovations several weeks ago. I thought they wouldn’t finish this month but I have a feeling they’ll open soon since I don’t see any renovation workers anymore.
They have a Mc Cafe now along with the new facade and new interiors. What do you think of the new McDonald’s now?
