Bo’s Coffee rammed by truck

I was wondering why Bo’s Coffee was cordoned off and had shattered glass when I saw it yesterday. It was rammed by an out-of-control six wheeler truck! What luck.
The truck hit other vehicles, both on the road and parked in front of the coffee shop last Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008 at 5 pm. Several people were hurt and were sent to the hospital.

Breaking News: Fire at Barangka

Black smoke is spotted around 4:30pm beyond the Ateneo campus, near the Riverbanks area. Since I have no confirmed reports yet, we assume it is in Barangay Barangka in Marikina. See pictures below:

Bo’s Coffee Holdup – More Info

I just found out another link, the Ateneo Online Bulletin, that gives a more detailed story of this robbery incident. The site also includes cartographic sketches and descriptions of the robbers provided by the Quirino Police Station (PS 9).

The PNP PS 9 also released a picture of another robbery suspect involved in a March 3 robbery at the Monterey Meat Shop at the corner of Anonas Ext. and Madasalin Street , Sikatuna Village , Quezon City . The suspect is believed to be a member of the group who robbed BOâ€™s Coffee last Friday.

Breaking News: Bo’s Coffee Katipunan Hold Up

According to my sources, Bo’s Coffee Katipunan branch was held up by 2 robbers on a motorcycle. It happened just before noon today, Friday, May 4, 2007. This is the second time Bo’s coffee was robbed. I’m not sure on the other details of what happened, how much was taken or if customers were robbed too or not. In the first holdup, my sources said laptops were taken from the customers. I was going to blog about this before but a few days lapsed before I had the time to do so and I thought nevermind, I don’t really know the details anyway. However, this second time, I think it may well be worth writing even if details of the event are not complete, just to let people know and be aware. Crime along Katipunan Avenue or at least reports about it have increased the past few years.

Anyway, to get back to the news, the first time the holdup happened was a Sunday morning, about the same time as today’s holdup. That was roughly two months ago. Before it was a Sunday which was a weekend and now a Friday, a weekday. These robbers don’t really pick a certain day of the week. People have been speculating that they are already “suki” of the robbers or maybe it was an inside job. The security they had for the daytime was only 1 guard while they had 2 guards for night time. My sources also speculate that these are the same robbers who robbed them last time. A lot of policemen, mobile units came right after the incident today which gave reason for my sources to go and check out the story for themselves.

Pancake House also had its share of a holdup last year in September, also by men on motorcycles. See this link on aboutmyrecovery.com for more information. Could this be a growing trend along Katipunan? Anyone out there who knows additional information or related news, please post here and provide your links!
